Olivia “Liv” Lee

Liv began her musical journey at just five years old with her first piano lessons. From an early age, it was clear to both her and those around her that music was an integral part of who she was. She expanded her talents by learning guitar at eight and truly flourished when she began studying viola and violin at eleven. In 2021, Liv graduated from the Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities with a Scholar’s Diploma in Music. Since then, she has continued to nurture her passion for both education and the arts, inspiring others through her love of music.

About The Practice Room

At The Practice Room, the goal is to help students grow into confident, well-rounded musicians while fostering a genuine passion for music. Lessons focus not only on technique and musicality, but also on helping students build a healthy, sustainable relationship with practice. After growing up in a classical music environment where pressure and rigid expectations often overshadowed joy, I believe strongly in teaching students how to practice effectively rather than simply telling them to practice for a set amount of time each day. At The Practice Room, practice is approached with quality over quantity in mind, giving students the tools to make real progress without losing their love for music.

The studio welcomes students of all ages, from beginners through intermediate musicians, with most current students in elementary and middle school as well as a growing number of adult learners. I also have experience teaching autistic and ADHD students, students with learning disabilities, hearing impaired students, and other disabled students who may need a more flexible, individualized approach. Every student learns differently, and The Practice Room is committed to creating a supportive space where students feel understood, encouraged, and excited to keep growing.

  • "Our two daughters adore Ms. Liv! She teaches piano to one and violin to the other, and she has been such a positive influence on both of them. She has a wonderful ability to balance encouragement with high standards, helping our girls grow in confidence, discipline, and love for music. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a great music teacher and highly recommend her!

  • "We’ve had such a great experience over the past year with Liv! My son started out on the violin because he couldn’t decide between violin and piano, and his teacher was so patient in helping him explore both and figure out what he truly enjoyed. When he realized piano was the better fit, she made the transition seamless. She has created an environment where my son feels excited to learn, ask questions, and challenge himself. He looks forward to every lesson, and one of the biggest indicators of her impact is that I don't have to remind him to practice—he does it on his own because he's excited to improve and proud of the progress he's making. I highly recommend her to any parent looking for a music teacher who not only builds technical skills but also fosters a true love of music and learning.

  • "I've really enjoyed learning viola with Liv as an adult beginner. She explains concepts clearly, is patient, and make lessons productive without feeling overwhelming. I've seen steady improvement in my playing and always leave lessons with a better understanding of what to work on. I continue to take lessons with her and would recommend her to anyone starting out on string instruments."

  • "I highly recommend miss Lee. She is incredibly patient and wonderful with my daughters. When they first started, they didn’t know how to play piano at all, and now they are confidently playing songs, which has been amazing to see. Her teaching style makes learning enjoyable and stress-free, and she really takes the time to make sure each student understands and progresses at their own pace."
